Show Review May 29, 2000 Pittsburgh, PA |
By Isaac Ludwig (mrsmilely@hotmail.com) Every year I get very excited about X-fest becasue the X always manages to find wonderful bands and always has lots of other things to do there also. This was actually Stainds second time playing at X-fest, and I think that they where the band that everyone was looking forward to the most. I heard a couple of people get interviewed and almost everyone was there to see them. This was my fifth time seeing Staind live, and they kicked ass as usual. The people in the mosh pit went totally nuts when they started playing, and knocked me off of a chair that I was standing on. The energy of the crowed kept building, and I saw a lot of guys taking thier girlfriends out of the pit so they wouldn't get hurt. I decided to move away from the center more, and worked my way back over the the chairs so I could brace my self on one of them. I guess somewhere in the comotion a cable snapped, and three speakers fell into the pit. I don't think anyone got hurt from that, but it made the crowd fall back toward the chairs more putting a great deal of pressure on those of us up against the chairs. I didn't think it was that bad until I felt the chair start to give way underneath me, and then it crumbled underneath me. Now this put me, and the other people up against the chairs in a awkward position because the people on top of us where starting to get very heavy. At this point a lot of people started to freak out and start yelling for everyone to get off of them. It really started to suck when I couldn't breath anymore. Luckily people got their shit togeather and got off of us. For those one or two minutes that I couldn't breath though the thought passed through my mind that I might actually die seeing my favorite band at one of my favorite music festivals. I came out of it alright though except for the fact that I get a chair shaped mark on my back and a couple of bruised ribs. After I got out of the pit though I went out into the chairs and finished watching an excellent show as always. They didn't play any songs from Tormented or their cover of Sober though, which was only a slight dissapointment. All in all though Staind always plays an awesome show and as long as they play concerts i'll always go see them.

Aaron Lewis joined Stone Temple Pilots on stage at the November 6th Family Values show in Dallas Texas to perform "Creep". Here's a quote from belowempty.com... Aaron Lewis helped with Creep and afterwards Scott said that "That was really beautiful and that was the best that song has sounded in 9 years".
